‘Really irregular’: Why innocuous sneaker could completely reshape Caddick investigation

Police investigating the disappearance of Melissa Caddick are zeroing in on one item – her shoe.

Human remains belonging to the missing businesswoman washed ashore on the NSW South Coast last Sunday, about 220km from her Dover Heights home in Sydney’s eastern suburbs.

Foot bones encased in an ASICS shoe were found by beachgoers, who reported the grim find to police.

DNA analysis confirmed five days later that they belonged to Caddick, who had not been seen for three months.
